Harley-Davidson to sell bikes in India in 2010

The company said it had set up an Indian unit and was in the process of seeking dealers.

US motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson Inc said on Thursday it expected to start selling its motorcycles in India in 2010.

The company said in a statement it had set up an Indian unit and was in the process of seeking dealers.

India is the world’s second-biggest market for motorcycles,where small,inexpensive bikes dominate sales,but Harley said it expects a growing economy,rising middle class and investment in highways to boost leisure motorcycle riding.
