A seven-figure sum has been offered by friends of former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn to the impoverished family of the chambermaid who was allegedly sexually assaulted in a hotel here by him to hush up the case,a media report claimed on Tuesday.

The maid, who is from Guinea, has family in the West African nation. “They already talked with her family,” a French businesswoman with close ties to Strauss-Kahn told The New York Post. “For sure,it’s going to end up on a quiet note.”

Since the maid is out of reach,Strauss-Kahn’s people had to reach out to the family in Guinea,a former French colony, according to The Post. “He’ll get out of it and will fly back to France. He won’t spend time in jail,” said the source.
