A male rhino that had strayed out of the Kaziranga National Park in central Assam was killed when a bullet fired by an Assam Forest Protection Force (AFPF) officer to scare it back into the forest hit it on its forehead on Saturday. The incident took place in village Bhetabari on the outskirts of the sixth addition of the park in Sonitpur district. The rhino had entered a village causing panic Saturday morning,after flood waters of the Brahmaputra entered the area.
