The FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) has appointed Ms. Bela Rajan as the Chairperson of the Mumbai Chapter for the period 2010-11.
Along with Rajan,a team of five executive members takes over as the executive committee for the period. The committee will comprise Parvathi Ramaswamy as treasurer, Chhaya Carvalho as Executive Secretary,Renu Kathuria as Vice Chairperson,and Ms. Sucheta Shah as Senior Vice Chairperson.
As the Chairperson,Ms. Bela Rajan will be responsible for spearheading the planning,execution and monitoring functions of all the programmes of FLOs Mumbai Chapter. The committee will be directly responsible for implementation of entrepreneurial and professional excellence programmes among women in the region.
Says Ms. Bela Rajan,the newly appointed FLO Chairperson,With passing years,the nature and magnitude of problems faced by women have changed drastically. Today,a larger challenge is to find practical solutions to cater to a larger number of women across socio-economic strata. At a still higher level,implementation of programmes and measurement of results become critical to their efficacy. Our endeavour is to bring more and more women deserving under the ambit of our programmes.
Bela Rajan,whos the Founder and Director of Sampark Public Relations,brings with her two decades of experience in communications,reputation management and social responsibility programmes. She has been a member of the FLO committee for over four years and has been actively promoting entrepreneurship and professional excellence in women.
Bela and the committee members will help FLO conduct programmes in education and vocational training,entrepreneurship development,and programmes in professional and management skills upgradation. Additionally,the committee will also implement social and environmental programmes such as Save The Girl Child,tree plantation drives and village adoptions.
