First Mercedes-Benz,now India gets ‘BharatBenz’

The world's largest truck maker Daimler today unveiled its exclusive brand 'BharatBenz' for trucks in India.

The world’s largest truck maker Daimler today unveiled its exclusive brand ‘BharatBenz’ for trucks in India.

The brand would represent the entire Daimler India Commercial Vehicles portfolio of trucks from 6-49 tonnes.

This would be the fifth brand in the Daimler Trucks portfolio,company officials said.

The trucks would be launched in 2012 and Daimler India has already invested Rs 4,400 crore at its Oragadam facility near here over a period of five years.

Daimler AG is one of the worlds most successful automotive companies. With its divisions Mercedes-Benz Cars,Daimler Trucks,Mercedes-Benz Vans,Daimler Buses and Daimler Financial Services,the Daimler Group is one of the biggest producers of premium cars and the worlds biggest manufacturer of commercial vehicles.

United States President Donald Trump Friday announced a new round of punishing tariffs, saying the US will impose 100% duties on imported branded drugs, 25% tariffs on heavy-duty trucks, and 50% tariffs on kitchen cabinets starting October 1.
