Saregama organised the release function of DJ Aqeels Forever,a remix album of classic Hindi film hits,at Hype,Mumbai recently. Aqeels wife Farah Ali Khan and veejay Anusha Dandekar were present.One of the best known DJ/music producers on the scene,DJ Aqeel has played in more countries than any other Indian DJ and is the only one to perform twice at the prestigious World Economic Forum in Davos,entertaining world leaders like Bill Clinton and Kofi Annan. He has six albums to his credit,which have sold over 5 million copies worldwide. He has also introduced the first-ever DJ-owned record label in the country,PowerPlay Records.This is Aqeels first album in two years. Says Aqeel,"It has been two years since my last album Wada Karo . . . This album is special to me as it features all my personal favourite remixes like Liya liya,Dum maro dum and Tumhe aana padega. The pioneer of bhangra-pop,Daler Mehndi,has now released his maiden devotional album Mere Ram - The Moksha Dwaar in Delhi after its Mumbai launch. Daler,who has rendered foot-tapping numbers like Tunak tunak tun,Naa naa re,says,As I was reading from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib,I felt like sharing the guru's words that shook me. Bharati Films Bhojpuri album Odhaniya Tari Ke recently. A collection of love songs rendered by Rajesh 'Zulmi' and Anuradha Gupta,they are penned by Madhav Rasiya with Nikunj Soni providing the music. The video is directed by G.S. Shailu and Gyan Singh has choreographed the song.
