There is a strong buzz that the success of Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji has motivated director Madhur Bhandarkar to make a sequel. The light-hearted flick about Ajay Devgn,Emraan Hashmi and Omi Vaidya and their crisscross love lives did a business of over 30 crore. The characters did not have a happily ever after ending,leaving a starting point for a sequel.
Paki to take off in June/July
Mani Ratnam’s Paki to be directed by his assistant,Shiva,will take off in June or July this year.
The film,which has Vivek Oberoi and Chitrangda Singh in lead roles,will start its shoot in Mumbai before heading for London. Paki,based on the terrorist attacks in London,was to start last year but since Shiva wanted to shoot the film at this particular time in the United Kingdom,it got postponed.
Sanjay hurts himself
Sanjay Dutt hurt himself while working out in the gym in Pattaya where he is presently shooting for his home production Rascals. A fitness freak that he is,Dutt was at the gym when a dumbbell fell on his right foot. Varun (Davids son) was with him. After first-aid and ice-pack fermentation,Dutt was advised complete rest. But since his co-star Kangna Ranaut was to return to Mumbai the next day,he reported to work. This aggravated his condition. He is now taking rest till he is fit to get back on the sets.
Gimmicks galore
After the gimmicks in his wife Farah Khans Tees Maar Khan failed to impress the box-office,Shirish Kunder has doubled his efforts for his own directorial venture,Joker. The film being made in 3-D has Akshay Kumar sporting two looks an Indian look where he will be seen in dhoti and a Western look,where he will sport cool casuals.
Pradhumans next Zara Hatke
After successfully impersonating Osama Bin Laden in his debut Tere Bin Laden,actor Pradhuman Singh has signed his next film Zara Hatke Zara Bachke. To be directed by debutant Rakesh Mehta,the film will have the actor play a smart and witty character.
Dum Maro Dum in trouble?
Refuting rumours about the Goa tourism industry voicing concern over Rohan Sippys upcoming film Dum Maro Dum showing the state in a poor light,the filmmaker stated that,We have read media reports to that effect. However,there has been no official communication to us. Starring Abhishek Bachchan,Bipasha Basu,Deepika Padukone and Rana Daggubati,the film,shot in Goa,deals with drugs,sex and sleaze. The Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG) was of the opinion that bad publicity would affect the tourist inflow in the state.
Ready gets ready for release
With the World Cup and IPL cricket fever on for the next few months,the release of films have taken a backseat. The first film to release would be Bhushan Kumars Ready,starring Salman Khan and Asin,on June 3,2011. Directed by Anees Bazmee,the film has been produced by T-Series and Rajat Rawail.
Haunted 3D in May
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is back,this time with a horror flick titled Haunted. The spine-chilling film that was to release on April 15,will now hit the screens on May 6. The delay was because the post -production of the film took a long time,said Bhatt.
Starring Mahakshay Chakraborty and Tia Bajpai,the film is Indias first stereoscopic 3-D film. It is produced by BVG Films and DAR Motion Pictures .
