Copper recovers on industrial demand

Copper for three-month delivery in London climbed 0.2 per cent to $8,017.50 a tonne.

Copper prices recovered by Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market due to pick-up in demand amid firming global trend.

Traders said pick-up in industrial demand and a recovery in select base metals at the London Metal Exchange,mainly led to a rise in copper prices.

Meanwhile,copper for three-month delivery in London climbed 0.2 per cent to $8,017.50 a tonne.

In the national capital,copper mixed scrap recovered by Rs 2 to Rs 381 per kg.

The following are metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot 121-127,nickel plate (4×4) 1,052-1,054,gun metal scrap 226,bell metal scrap 228,copper mixed scrap 381,chadri deshi 285.

Lead ingot 128,lead imported 126,aluminium ingots 123,sheet cutting 125,aluminium wire scrap 129 and aluminium utensils scrap 124.
