CIL presents Rs 2,210-cr dividend to PM

Coal Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal presented a cheque of Rs 2,210 crore to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh as the highest ever dividend on behalf of navratna PSU Coal India Ltd (CIL).

“The dividend for fiscal 2009-10 is the highest ever paid by CIL. It constitutes 35 per cent of paid-up equity of Rs 6,316.36 crore,” an official statement said.

CIL Chairman Partha S Bhattacharyya and coal secretary C Balakrishnan were present on the occasion.
