Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Tuesday visited the global software development centre of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Mumbai and engaged closely with senior Tata Group officials on matters of mutual interest.
Cyrus P Mistry,chairman of the Tata group,welcomed Li and his delegation of ministers and other officials at the TCS facility. Mistry was accompanied by N Chandrasekaran,MD and CEO of TCS,and other senior Tata group officials.
During the visit,Li was given an overview of the Tata Groups operations in China with a special focus on Jaguar Land Rovers and TCS growing investments and operations across the country. The Tata group was the only Indian private enterprise on the itinerary of the Premier during his three-day visit to India.
We are delighted with the visit of the Premier to our group and this facility. China is a very important geography for the future growth of the Tata group. We believe that there can be tremendous cross learning between India and China in the field of technology, Mistry said. Later,in his address to business leaders at the India- China business Co-operation Summit,Li said,I have been wondering that the two countries,which are developing markets with such huge potential,have bilateral trade of less than $70 billion, calling for greater bilateral trade.
