Cardamom futures prices rose by Rs 15.30 or 1.23 per cent at Rs 1,260 per kg in futures trade today largely on the back of pick up in demand in the spot markets.

Restricted arrivals from the producing regions also supported the rise in prices.

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX),cardamom for August contract rose Rs 15.30 or 1.23 per cent to Rs 1,260 per kg in a trading volume of one lot.

The spice of May contract gained Rs 13.50 or 0.99 per cent to Rs 1,375.60 per kg in 192 lots.

Traders said,pick up in demand in the spot market,against restricted arrivals from producing regions,mainly led to a rise in cardamom prices at futures market.
