Taking his campaign against Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj to Rashtrapati Bhavan,Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa along with the entire BJP central leadership on Tuesday paraded the MLAs supporting his government before President Pratibha Patil and urged her to reject the Governors report recommending Presidents rule in the state. The BJP delegation also reiterated its demand for the recall of Bhardwaj. The President did not give any assurance but heard the BJPs compliant against the Governor. In a memorandum,Yeddyurappa said Bhardwaj had been acting in a partisan manner, converted Raj Bhavan into a political weapon for harassing the state government ever since he assumed office and in the latest instance summarily, arbitrarily and unconstitutionally recommended that the legislature be kept under suspended animation. BJP chief Nitin Gadkari claimed the BSY government has the support of 122 MLAs in the 225-member Assembly. However,of these,114 were present on Tuesday while five are said to have sent letters of support to Yeddyurappa. One BJP MLA is out of the country while another is said to be indisposed.
