LONDON: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair met Muammar Gaddafi twice in Libya at the ousted dictators expense,months before the Lockerbie bomber was released from a Scottish prison,a media report said Sunday. Blair,who demitted office in June 2007,held secret talks with Gaddafi in Libya in June 2008 and April 2009 before Abdelbaset al-Megrahi was freed from a Scottish jail in 2009,The Sunday Telegraph reported,quoting letters and emails since the Libyan leader was ousted.

DSK to give first TV interview since arrest

PARIS: Dominique Strauss-Kahn was expected to break his silence early Monday and speak out in a highly anticipated interview with French TV,his first since his May arrest over allegations he sexually assaulted a New York hotel maid. The interview on the TF1 channel was widely expected to draw a record audience.

Egyptians to start voting on Nov 21

CAIRO: Egypt will start parliamentary elections on November 21,Al Arabiya Television reported Saturday,the countrys first vote since a popular uprising toppled President Hosni Mubarak in February. Al-Ahram newspaper quoted Egypts election commission head as saying voting for the lower house,the Peoples Assembly,will start on November 21 and end by January 3.
