Mumbai: Essar Oil,a part of the Ruias-promoted Essar Group,has said its promoter entities would consolidate their holdings in the company by way of transfer of shares amongst themselves later this month. a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange,Essar Oil said that two of the promoter group entities,Essar Energy Holdings and Essar Investments Ltd,would onsolidate their holdings through ‘inter-se transfer’ of shares between April 9 and April 30. Essar Energy Holdings’s stake in Essar Oil will rise to 14.55 per cent from 6.22 per cent after the acquisition of additional 17.47 crore shares from other promoters.

Tata,Mahindra to host Geithner lunch

New Delhi: Industrialists Anand Mahindra and Ratan Tata will co-host a power lunch for CEOs with the visiting US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on April 7. The US-India Economic and Financial Partnership assembly in Mumbai will be on the lines of the US-China engagement,industry sources said.

FinMin launches e-Office programme

NEW DELHI: The finance ministry on Monday initiated an e-Office programme directed towards a paperless office by enabling access to internal information for its employees through any computer. “The implementation of this system is expected to improve the employee productivity by introducing collaborative working in a digital workspace and thus pave the way towards a paperless office,” an official statement said.

Vikas Global to start India petro production

New Delhi: BSE-listed Vikas Global One is all set to manufacture Tinmate (Methyl Tin Mercaptide ) and Addflex (Epoxidised Soyabean Oil),the specialty chemicals used in petrochemicals,in India now. Vikas Garg,the company’s MD said,“At present,in the Asia pacific region,these products are produced only in Taiwan and China.”

Great need to prevent homelessness: DLF

New Delhi: While the government has succeeded in pushing through major economic reforms to boost economic growth,enough has not been done to save vast sections of the population from homelessness,poverty,ignorance and diseases,DLF Universal chairman K P Singh has said. Delivering his ‘Vision 2020’ address organised by industry body Assocham,Singh emphasised that aspirations of the poor have still to be met.
