Bitti handed over to Rajasthan Police

A Kerala police team handed over former Orissa police chief’s son Bitti Mohanty,who jumped parole in 2006 while serving a sentence here for raping a German tourist,to local jail authorities here.

A Kerala police team handed over former Orissa police chief’s son Bitti Mohanty,who jumped parole in 2006 while serving a sentence here for raping a German tourist,to local jail authorities here.

Mohanty,the son of former Orissa DGP B B Mohanty,was brought to Jaipur on Saturday on production warrant and taken to the Central Jail,the police said. The Jaipur police will take Mohanty in custody for jumping parole after producing him in a local court on Monday,they said.

Mohanty was convicted of raping a German tourist in Alwar on April 12,2006.

Ahead of the rollout of GST 2.0 effective from September 22, companies have announced lower prices for over 375 common-use goods. Other items like shampoo, soap, cement, durable goods, and cars may also see a reduction.
