The Greater Manchester police of the UK have handed over the body of 23-year-old Anuj Bidve,who was murdered on December 26,to the Indian High Commission and the Funeral Director following a second post-mortem on Tuesday. Three members of Anujs family will be flying to UK on Wednesday to bring the body back.
Rakesh Sonavane,Anujs brother-in-law,said: The body will be sent to India. We have been told that it should take two to three days to complete the process.
Anuj was pursuing his PG in microelectronics at Lancaster University. The Greater Manchester police have charged 20-year-old man Kiaran Mark Stapleton with the murder.
The two-member team from Greater Manchester police,which came here on Monday,meanwhile,met Anujs family again at his residence on Tuesday.
Reading out a statement to the media here,Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson said: After meeting Anujs family,we were able to fill in some of the gaps in understanding the events leading up to his tragic death.
Anujs father,mother and brother-in-law will go to the UK, said Rakesh. It was earlier learnt that if the result of the second post-mortem matched with that of the first,the body would be handed over to the Indian High Commission.
