Seven days after 23-year-old Anuj Bidve was shot dead in Manchester, the UK police told his family members in Pune that the investigations till now have revealed that the crime had no motive but the possibility of it being a race or hate crime could not be ruled out. On Monday, two officers from Greater Manchester Police chief superintendent Russ Jackson and detective constable Peter Rickards visited Anujs family members. Anujs cousin Suruchi Wagh said,Three of the five arrested suspects have been released on bail. It was found that the fourth person was not involved in the crime. They have charged the fifth person,Kiaran Stapleton, with murder and he will be produced before a magistrate court and a Crowns court. When asked whether the officers told the family about the motive of the crime and whether it was a race crime,Suruchi said,They have told us that as of now it seems to be an unprovoked and motiveless attack. But other possibilities are not being ruled out. A trial date will be given on Tuesday or Wednesday. The family members still havent received any details of the formalities of the body being sent back and may be informed about it on Wednesday.
