Banka bypoll: Digvijay’s wife likely to have smooth sailing

Putul Singh,the wife of late MP Digvijay Singh,may sail through in the Banka Lok Sabha bypolls — being held simultaneously with the Assembly polls with the JD(U) and Congress set to support her candidature. The RJD has not decided on the matter as yet. “Our stand over support to Putul Singh had become clear right after Singh’s sudden death,” a senior JD(U) leader close to CM Nitish Kumar said.

The Congress,too,has made up its mind on supporting Putul’s candidature. “We will support Singh’s wife,for we strongly admired Singh as a politician,” said Bihar Congress chief spokesperson Premchand Mishra. Meanwhile,Putul has appealed to all parties to support her candidature.
