Ahead of Lok Sabha elections,Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav urged his partymen to unite and not to punish him for the wrong deeds of SPs ministers, legislators and MPs. Mulayam was addressing party workers during a function organised to commemorate the 47th death anniversary of socialist ideologue Ram Manohar Lohia in Lucknow on Saturday.
I am keeping a sharp eye on the people who are in power. Their behaviour should change else it will be difficult for me, Mulayam said. If you are angry and your minister,MLA or MP has done anything wrong then do not take revenge from me. Will you send me alone to the Parliament? I know there are some wrong things going on but they are all sitting here and CM will talk to them and improve them, Mulayam stated.
Mulayam also lashed out at the Congress stating that it has a mentality of a dictator. He recalled his struggle during emergency days and Lohias anti-Congress stand. Lohia had raised voice against Nehru and corruption by the Congress. It is true even now. Scams have become the order of the day while the Prime Minister is speechless, he stated.
Mulayam also touched the Muslim vote bank stating that the Sachar Committee recommendations were gathering dust and no action has been taken by the PM.
Perhaps learning from his father,Akhilesh also concentrated on upliftment of Muslims and the good work done by his government during his speech. The Home Minister has now written that no innocent Muslim should be harassed. Netaji had been doing it for quite long. Now when we are withdrawing cases against Muslims, there is a hue and cry. There is no discrimination in the schemes run by my government, Akhilesh said.
