The Amal Neerad-directed film Anwar,which has caught headlines because of the contemporary nature of the subject,is likely to be released in October,as per recent reports.
Amal Neerad,who had earlier made Big B and Sagar Alias Jackie,has cast Prithviraj,Prakashraj,Mamta Mohandas and Lal in Anwar,which discusses terrorism as it affects the common man. While Prithviraj plays an ordinary Muslim youth named Anwar living in Kerala,Prakash Raj dons the role of a cop in the Anti-Terrorist Squad,named Stalin Manimaaran. Lal plays Babookka,mentor to Anwar while Mamta is cast as an educated and forward-looking Muslim girl,Ayisha.
To be produced by Raj Zachariahs under the banner of Celebs and Red Carpet Films,it has story and screenplay by Amal Neerad himself while Satheesh Kurup has done the cinematography. Lyrics by Rafeek Ahammed are set to tune by Gopi Sundar. Vivek does the editing while Joseph Nellickal is in charge of the art direction.
