‘Anti-Mulayam’ comments: BSP leader booked

Police Monday lodged an FIR against Leader of Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya and his daughter Sanghmitra Maurya for making “objectionable comments”

Police Monday lodged an FIR against Leader of Opposition Swami Prasad Maurya and his daughter Sanghmitra Maurya for making “objectionable comments” against SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav at a function in Manipuri— where Sanghmitra was announced as BSP candidate for the Lok Sabha bypoll — on Sunday.

They were booked on a complaint of SP district president Khuman Singh Verma.

Verma alleged that Maurya had called Mulayam “goondaraj ka baap” and “goondon ka sargana” while addressing the gathering. Verma further claimed that Sanghmitra referred to Mulayam as “bhains charane wala”.

Maurya could not be contacted but Sanghmitra said she didn’t make “objectionable” remarks against Mulayam.
