Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra along with producers Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros International joined a campaign to fight piracy along with Alliance Against Copyright Theft (AACT),an initiative to address piracy in India launched jointly between Bollywood and Hollywood studios. The stars urged people to report piracy-related incidents on a toll free number,1800 103 1919. They will also be seen in an anti-piracy film made by AACT. Speaking of his association with AACT,Ranbir said,Piracy has become a serious issue for the industry,especially among the youth. The onus rests on us to educate and inform people about piracy. I hope that everyone supports us and go to theatres to watch movies. Priyanka added,When someone buys or downloads a pirated movie they are not aware about the damage that piracy causes to the industry. As responsible citizens,we need to be vigilant about not encouraging illegal activities. According to AACT statistics piracy eats into nearly 60 per cent of the film industry business. Break Ke Baad on November 27 Imran Khan and Deepika Padukones romantic comedy Break Ke Baad is set for a November 27 release. Director Kunal Kohli is debuting as a producer with the film,which has been directed by his assistant director Danish Aslam and is co-produced by Reliance Big Pictures. Ramayana - The Epic on Oct 15 Maya Digital Media Productions 3D animation film Ramayana - The Epic is to release during the festive season of Dassera. Directed by Chetan Desai and produced by Deepa Sahi,it is inspired by Valmikis version of the Ramayan and showcases some of the most complex animated characters and spectacular virtual sets. Distributed by Warner Bros in India,it will release on October 15 in English and Hindi with versions in Tamil,Telugu,Gujarati and Marathi. It has Manoj Bajpayee,Juhi Chawla and Ashutosh Rana lending their voices to the characters of Ram,Sita and Ravan. Khudakushi not to release in India Rakesh Mehta,who began his career as a director with K Sera Sera Productions yet to release Crash,has made an art film titled Khudakushi. The film has,so far,won 11 selections at various film festivals all over the world,the recent being the selection at Pare Lorentz International Film Festival,Clarksburg,SA. However,Mehta doesnt intend releasing it in India as it does not have any stars,song or dance sequences,hence the film has no commercial viability. It deals with serious issues like terrorism and reflects the dire situations persisting even in todays times. Workshop for aspiring filmmakers Accord Equips opened their second workshop recently at Mumbais Oshiwara. The workshop will present the functioning of camera and digital filmmaking processes. The company was instrumental in providing digital cameras for Dibakar Banerjis Love Sex Aur Dhoka.
