The annual shareholders meeting of Alstom,held in Paris on 22 June 2010,approved the appointments of Lalita Gupte,and Katrina Landis,Group Vice President of BP Alternative Energy,as members of Alstoms Board of Directors. These nominations aim to develop the diversity of Alstoms Board members. By virtue of her Indian nationality,rich and diverse career and her contributions to ICICI Bank,Lalita Gupte will bring her international experience and sense of innovation to the Board. Lalita D. Gupte,61,an Indian citizen,holds a Bachelors degree in economics and a Masters degree in management studies from Mumbai University. Beginning her career with ICICI Ltd (Indias second largest bank) in 1971,she held various leadership positions in areas of corporate and retail banking,strategy and international banking. She has been instrumental in transforming ICICI Bank into a diversified financial services group. She has been specifically in charge of developing the retail domestic bank,the listing of ICICI on the New York Stock Exchange in 1998-1999,before leading international operations starting in 2001. Katrina Landis,50,a US citizen,started her career as a consultant then created a consulting firm specialised in energy. After working for Amoco,she joined the BP group in 1992 where she has served in a variety of senior roles,including exploration and production,trading as well as mergers and acquisitions. The annual shareholders meeting also approved the renewal of the appointments of Georges Chodron de Courcel,Olivier Bouygues and Bouygues SA,as directors.
