Allahabad suicide may be honour killing

An apparent suicide by an 18-year-old girl in Allahabad turned into an honour killing case after the post-mortem report disclosed that the girl died due to a head injury and not of hanging.

An apparent suicide by an 18-year-old girl in Allahabad turned into an honour killing case after the post-mortem report disclosed that the girl died due to a head injury and not of hanging. The girl’s elder brother has since confessed before the media to killing her.

Rajni Sahu (18) who was reportedly pregnant was found hanging from the ceiling in her room in Neta Nagar colony here on Tuesday.

Anshu Sahu,Rajni’s elder brother said she was having an affair with a boy from their area. He said the incident took place on May 11. “She was adamant on marrying the boy,I caught her and hit her head on the wall repeatedly. She fainted. Then I dragged her into the room and hanged her to create a suicide scene,” Anshu said.
