Ajits Tamil hit Varalaru is Godfather in Kannada,Upendra to lead

Varalaru: History of Godfather,the Ajit-starrer Tamil hit of 2006,now gets remade in Kannada as Godfather.

Varalaru: History of Godfather,the Ajit-starrer Tamil hit of 2006,now gets remade in Kannada as Godfather. The K.S.Ravikumar-directed Varalaru will have Upendra as its hero in its Kannada remake and its S. Sriram who is in charge of direction. The film is being produced by hit producer K.Manju and also stars Soundarya,Catherine and Sudha Belwadi.

It should be remembered that Varalaru: History Of Godfather was initially named Godfather,but the title was later changed to Varalaru to avail of the tax exemption thats given only to films with Tamil titles. The film,made at a budget of Rs.14 crore,was one of the biggest hits in the career of Ajit and grossed over Rs. 55 crore.

Upendra,for whom this is one of his most expensive movies,too pins much hope on Godfather.

‘Unfortunate’: SC slams reports suggesting ‘pilot error’ led to Air India crash

The Supreme Court Monday issued notice on a plea seeking an independent and expeditious investigation into the June 12, 2025, crash of an Air India Boeing Dreamliner in Ahmedabad, which killed 260 people. The bench also termed as “unfortunate” media reports which indicated that “pilot error” was to blame for the crash, purportedly quoting some preliminary findings by the AAIB.
