Adarsh panel calls Shinde

Union minister Sushilkumar Shinde has been summoned to appear as a witness before the commission probing the Adarsh scam.

Union minister Sushilkumar Shinde has been summoned to appear as a witness before the commission probing the Adarsh scam.

Shinde,as chief minister between 2011 and 2003,had cleared the proposal by then revenue minister Ashok Chavan that 40 per cent flats be alloted to civilians.

Besides Shinde,several bureaucrats,named as accused by the CBI,have also been summoned.

Meanwhile,Brigadier Deepak Saxena,who is representing the Defence Ministry,on Monday testified regarding ownership of the land on which the building stands.

Saxena showed the panel several maps and plans to supported the Armys claim that the land belonged to it.
