The report of the postmortem conducted on a five-year-old girl whose body was found on the terrace of a building in an Army residential complex in Kolkata on Tuesday,has revealed that she was strangled to death. Injury marks on her skull also indicate murder. While the report makes no mention of whether Jhumjhum Das was sexually assaulted,her family believes there was a rape bid. The area being under the Army is restricted and almost no outsiders are allowed. How can a thing of this sort happen? asked Kajal Singh,Jhumjhums aunt. Jhumjhums mother Gouri Das works as domestic help with officer Joshi Khandelwal living in the Turf View Officers Enclave. Around 7.30 pm on Monday,she had gone out to play with her brother Sunil (8) and two older boys.
