An 11-year-old girl allegedly raped by her uncle at a village in Vadodaras Chhota Udepur taluka was declared to be over five-month-pregnant by doctors at SSG Hospital where she was admitted Friday after being referred here by a private doctor in the tribal-dominated taluka. The victim was allegedly raped by her uncle thrice in a single day when her parents were away at Dholka where they worked as construction labourers, her father said. An FIR was filed against the accused on Tuesday and he was arrested on Thursday, the police said. The matter came to light when the victim developed complications related to pregnancy. After examining her, doctors at a private hospital in Chhota Udepur said she was over five-months pregnant. They, however, refused to treat her unless her parents filed a police case since the patient was a minor. She was immediately referred to the SSG Hospital in Vadodara Friday where she was put under observation. The victims father said he had left the village to work at a construction site, leaving his daughter with her grandmother. The girl was allegedly raped when she visited her uncles house in another village for a day. She was raped by my elder brother three times, the girls father said. Doctors at SSG Hospital said the girl could not undergo abortion since it was not allowed in cases of more than 20 weeks of pregnancy. They said the girls condition was stable.
