Brisbane, August 9: Australian captain Steve Waugh has urged fans to rally behind Shane Warne despite his dumping as National vice-captain.``It's something I can't even comprehend. I guess I'm under pressure and media scrutiny but Warnie probably gets 10 times what I'm under.''Waugh said he spoke with Warne on Wednesday when the Australian squad gathered here for a training camp ahead of next Wednesday's opening game with the South Africans.``We confront the issues head on and he's been very open about it and he wants to put in a good performance over these three games,'' Waugh said. ``He's keen. He feels he's bowling as well as he has ever done in English county cricket and his shoulder is 100 per cent.''Warne has already expressed full support for new vice-captain Adam Gilchrist. But Waugh said he would still call on Warne for advice after the pair forged an impressive partnership which included last year's World Cup triumph.``I've always seen the Australian cricket team as having 10 vice-captains,'' he said.``One guy has got the title and he's the one you'll go to in a crunch situation and get that final piece of advice.``But I'll certainly be going to Warnie and Mark (Waugh) and all the players - if they've got something to say I'll listen to them.``Warnie's not vice-captain and that's disappointing and tough for him to take because it's a huge honour but I'll still go to him for input into the team.''Waugh is among several Australian players facing a challenge to regain match fitness after an off-season lay-off.The skipper admitted some players would be sore during the Brisbane training camp, adjusting to training and match-play for the first time since April. But Waugh indicated he would lean on the small group of players, including Warne, who have played in England. Comeback quick Jason Gillespie is among that group, giving him a head start in his goal to re-establish his frontline bowling position. The last time Gillespie played for Australia, he was driven from the ground in an ambulance after breaking his leg in a sickening on-field clash with Waugh in Sri Lanka last year. The 25-year-old has recently bowled well in the Lancashire League and Waugh can at least count on the fitness of Gillespie, Warne and pace spearhead Glenn McGrath.``All the guys from England look in good shape and they've had really good performances over there so we'll be looking for big performances here from them,'' Waugh said.
