It may be recalled that a couple of years back another water mains passing through Thane burst at Nal Pada in Kapurbawdi. This incident had led to the flooding of the locality. That incident claimed a couple of lives, and thousands of houses were submerged under water.
The earlier burst was caused due to the pipes which were rusted and outdated. They had not been replaced by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
