The CBI has told the Supreme Court that the Ahmedabad magistrate who issued arrest warrants against the President and the then CJI had asked his staff to lie before the investigating agency.In its fourth investigation report submitted to the court, which recently quashed the warrants, the CBI alleged that the magistrate, after being suspended, had tried to coax his staff into telling the agency that all procedures were scrupulously followed before issuance of the warrants. The case was brought up by TV journalist Vijay Shekhar who conducted a sting operation.
