VSP becomes ISO-9002 certified company

MUMBAI, MAY 30: Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL) has become the first integrated steel plant in the country to bag a single quality system certificate for its entire operations. A RINL statement said that the company has received ISO-9002 certificate for its 50 departments, four regional offices, 20 branch offices and 22 stock yards. The certificate, given by Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI), makes VSP a fully ISO-9002 certified company, the statement said.

The scope of the quality certificate includes "productionof comprehensive range of iron and steel products, coke and coal chemicals, other saleable products and generation of power along with supporting and service departments and also marketing of all the saleable products including power in domestic or export markets," it said.
