Constituency: Shakarpur
Area: Ganesh Nagar

Satyadev Prasad Tiwari has been selling cigarettes, chips and other assorted goods from his makeshift shop on Bahadur Shah Zaraf Marg since 1977. The sincerity and hardwork of the candidate is the most important thing to him. For him there has been no honest politician in India since Dr Rajendra Prasad. He says it is still important to vote since that is a citizen’s most precious right.

On his shop
He has been running his shop the past thirty years. “My shop is older than all the offices here, but the MCD won’t grant me licence. The files are just lying in the offices somewhere,” he says.

On his area
Ganesh Nagar was regularised by the Congress but Tiwari says the government has not done anything for the area.

On traffic
From his home in Ganesh Nagar to his shop in ITO, Tiwari cycles five kilometres every day. “ITO Bridge has a dedicated cycle lane, but two-wheelers and motorbikes always come into the lane and block cyclists,” says Tiwari.
