Even as Telugu megastar Chiranjeevi keeps postponing the launch of his political party, popular yesteryear actress Vijayshanti fired the first salvo on Monday at a well-attended public rally held in Hyderabad saying all Telangana parties should tie-up with the BJP. Vijayshanti, who recently launched her own Talli Telangana party, made an inspiring speech demanding justice for the Telangana region. She alleged that both the Congress and TDP betrayed the people of Telangana after making promises. “It is time for parties originating from Telangana to join hands with the BJP as it would help them achieve separate statehood, she said.She criticised the media obsession with Chiranjeevi and questioned the logic behind the publicity blitzkrieg “about a person who has not shown any intention of joining politics till now”. “Why don’t the media support regional parties of Telangana in their fight for a separate state? Why have they shied away from giving some publicity to the smaller parties and have launched such a high pitched campaign in favour of an actor who is nowhere to be seen?” she asked.Vijayshanti urged the people and leaders to shun their individual stands and join hands with the BJP to contest next year’s elections.
