CALCUTTA, MARCH 7: Lucknow’s Vijay Kumar played a par 70 last round to win the Classic Eastern India Golf championship here today. Kumar also pocketed a cheque for Rs 99,960.

Shiv Prakash was second with Basad Ali and Rafique Ali joint third. Arjun Atwal finished joint fifth.

DOHA, QATAR: Jeev Milkha Singh boosted his chances of a good finish in the $ 1 million Qatar Masters with an encouraging four under par 68 in the third round at the Doha Golf Course today.

Jeev fired six birdies, including a monstrous 50-foot putt on the par five 647 yard ninth hole for a three-round total of 212, an effort that put him in a better frame of mind before the final round.
