Videocon Industries, which took over French electronic giant Thomson’s picture tubes business worldwide, on Tuesday said it would consider amalgamation of Videocon International with itself on July 7.
‘‘The board of directors will meet on July 7 to evaluate the proposal of amalgamation of Videocon International with the company,’’ the company informed BSE.
According to the BSE, Videocon Industries has a turnover of Rs 135 crore, while the flagship company of the consumer durables-Videocon International’s sales turnover was Rs 4,003 crore. Videocon Industries made a profit of Rs 3.18 crore while Videocon International recorded a net profit of Rs 133 crore for the nine-month period ended March 2005.
The promoters’ stake in Videocon Industries is 88.92 pc and in Videocon International the stake is 35.51 pc.
Videocon Industries scrip closed at Rs 438.95 on the BSE, registering a decline of 0.81 per cent.
