Anil Kumble does not mind a ‘healthy’ war of words between players but India's Test captain asserts whatever happens on the field should remain on the field.Following India's acrimonious tour of Australia, the International Cricket Council has shot a letter to the CEOs of its Full Member countries and the captain of all the international teams, urging the players to avoid sledging.A host of players, including South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher, however, feels sledging cannot be stamped out.Commenting on Boucher's statement a day ahead of India's first Test with South Africa, Kumble more or less had the same view on the issue."As for Boucher's comments, everybody understands that. It is always good to have a healthy battle on the field. Everybody understands that whatever happens on the field should remain on the field," Kumble said."We are all mature enough to understand that. We will ensure that in the series and in future series as well," said Kumble, who led India in the ill-tempered Test series Down Under.Kumble, however, denied receiving any letter from the ICC on the issue."We did not receive any letter. We are all capable and responsible enough to understand where the line is. I am sure cricket will be played in the right manner," he said.On chances of more and more players overstepping the line, Kumble said, "No, I don't think so. The match referee is there to handle those situations. It (sledging) happens at the heat of the moment but we will go by ICC rules."
