PUNE, July 26: The University of Pune is seriously considering the proposal to set up a 1,000-seat capacity auditorium on the occasion of its golden jubilee year. The auditorium is expected to cost a whopping Rs. two crore, Dr R S Mali, convener of the golden jubilee celebrations committee said.
With the University Grants Commission (UGC) earmarking Rs. 25 lakh as a special grant to the varsity for celebrating its golden jubilee year, the committee is hopeful that the UGC would raise the grant to Rs. 50 lakh, Mali said.
