KOCHI, FEB 10: Once again it’s time to dream dreams and chase concepts…

Mid-February is when the quest for an abstraction reaches a turning point: While a `Yes’ revolutionises life for some, others take care not to be deterred by a `No’. And, offering another bunch of smiles, they look forward to the next Valentine’s Day, when the season of love comes with its tender touch to balm fragmented hearts.

But optimism is the grammar of youth’s life. And, on all the cards available in the market, this emotion manifests in all its splendour. That may be why one of the cards advises thus: If you can’t help saying `yes’ or `definitely yes’ to me, just call…

Most of the new generation cards have this feature. Many of them leave a full line to fill up where to contact or meet if the decision is `Yes’, or if the missing link between two hearts is deciphered as love.

Another card calls for your attention saying “you are about to see what makes my heart beat” and on the facing page of the card inside a heart-shaped flap is a mirror.

Again if you thought that nothing is available free when prices are spiralling then you’re wrong: Here’s a Valentine offering his heart and you can place the order at…

Again, if you thought Valentine’s Day is an exclusive affair of the youth, you’re completely wrong. There are cards which you can send to your better half to remind her “those times when the sky’s looking gray…But honey, it’s true that with you by my side I’ll always be glad that we’re sharing the ride.”

The prices of the card range from Rs 7 to 175.

But cards are for beginners. For those who have concretised this emotion in their hearts, it’s cute gifts like little bear and heart-shaped mugs.
