MUMBAI, OCTOBER 21: After the successful surgery on his left knee, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee will be discharged from the Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday.

According to the hospital sources, the Prime Minister is in high spirits and looking forward to go home on Sunday.

After the left knee joint replacement surgery on Octover 10, Vajpayee has recovered rapidly. He is also taking walking exercise in the hospital with the help of a walker.

Dr F E Udwadia and Dr Nandu Laud, the attending surgeons for the Prime Minister said Vajpayee was copletely fit and would be discharged on Sunday noon after lunch at the hospital.

The Prime Minister’s knee is recovering and he can flex his knees satisfactorily. He is able to walk but has been advised to use the walker for some time.

Meanwhile, the city BJP has planned grand farewell for the VIP patient on his way to the airport from where he will be taken to the capital in a special IAF plane. Besides his personal physician, family members and officers of the PMO, the prime minister will be accompanied by Minister for Information Technology Pramod Mahajan. The plane is likely to take off at around 2.30 pm.
