BJP president M. Venkaiah Naidu declared here today that A.B. Vajpayee will be the prime ministerial candidate of the party in the coming Lok Sabha elections and the projection of L.K. Advani along side him should not create any ambiguity. Clarifying his statement yesterday that the BJP would project both Vajpayee as the ‘‘Vikas Purush’’ (development man) and Advani as the ‘‘Lauh Purush’’ (iron man) during its poll campaign, Naidu said next year’s general elections would be contested on Vajpayee’s naam and kaam (name and work).
