VADODARA, July 25: SSC, HSC Board toppers of the city were felicitated at a programme organised by the Baroda Academic Association here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion Labour and Employment Minister Bhupendra Lakhawala said that these students had brought fame to the city through their labour. He said that the students had won laurels for their parents also. He congratulated the organisation for conducting such a programme.
He added that more students could have made it to the top, but for their poor command over English. He added that once the students attained fluency in English then the results would be even more and the students could make it even for entrance examinations which were held for jobs in other parts of the country.
“The fact that the per cent of result has been higher than that of previous year speaks about the effort made by the students,” he said. The minister also pointed out that being a topper in these examinations were just the beginning of the career of the students. “These students should treat this examination as a stepping stone for a better future and strive for similar or even better success in the future,” said Lakhawala.
