NEW DELHI, May 17: United States of America researchers have developed a vaccine against cryptosporidiosis – chronic diarrhoea and dehydration in mammals – in cattle that can help develop a similar vaccine for the disease in humans.

Cryptosporidiosis, that affects the intestinal tract of almost all mammals, is most harmful in humans and cattle. Frequent travellers, aids patients and children at day-care facilities are at greater risk of the infection which is not lethal, but retards growth.
