CHANDIGARH, April 26: Members of the UT Road Workers Union (PWD), Chandigarh, today held a rally near the Housing Board roundabout here, to protest against the Administration’s alleged adamant stand on accepting their demands.

Their demands include giving bonus to all UT employees, regularisation of daily wage workers who have completed 10 years’ service and five years’ service as work charge as on November 30, 1994. They also want the Administration to implement the DA, HRA and CCA to the daily wagers, according to the Supreme Court’s judgment. Release of DA on Central government pattern and application of the Factory Act to tile factory workers.

Meanwhile, the UT Powermen Union held gate meetings before the offices of the electricity wing of Engineering Department and said they will support the rally called by Federation of UT employees and workers tomorrow.
