UT power men to launch protest from Monday

CHANDIGARH, June 12: The Chandigarh Powermen Union at its meeting held here today, has decided to launch a peaceful protest by holding rallies and gate meetings at various offices from Monday, in support of its demands.

The union criticised the Administration for its failure to consider the genuine and long-pending demands of the employees, These include implementation of pay scales to all employees of UT Electricity Department on PSEB pattern, filling up of vacant posts by promotion from departmental employees, soap and uniforms for eligible employees and time-bound promotion to T-mate, assistant lineman and lineman on the basis of years of service.

Addressing the meeting, union general secretary Girish Kumar stated that the union had taken up the issues with the Administration time and again, but to no avail.
