Pakistan has shifted all its militant camps to Gilgit under US pressure, claims a PoK leader. ‘‘The Pakistan establishment has merged several camps and moved them from the periphery of Muzaffarabad and other areas in PoK,’’ says Shazia Ghulam Din, daughter-in-law of JKLF founder Maqbool Bhatt. She claims Gilgit is inaccessible to Kashmiri and Pakistani civilians.
Shazia, whose husband Showkat Bhat formed an all party national alliance, said the camps located in PoK were moved under US pressure. ‘‘I think they have been shifted to Gilgit and Baltistan areas and no Kashmiri or ordinary Pakistani has the right to visit these places,’’ said Shazia.
She said the foreign mercenaries in PoK had created social problems for the locals and that the world would come to know of the real situation once the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad bus service was launched.
Calling the ‘‘jehadis’’ ‘‘fasadis’’ (trouble-mongers), she said: ‘‘A number of mercenaries from Afghanistan, Pakistan and other Muslim countries have invaded the rich cultural heritage and history of Kashmir in PoK’’. ‘‘If the bus service between Srinagar and Muzzaffarabad is launched, it would be an eye-opener for the people in PoK,’’ said Shazia, who is in the country in connection with the World Social Forum meet. — PTI
