GANDHINAGAR, MARCH 28: Gujarat Legislative Assembly on Tuesday witnessed uproarious scenes over the issue of death of 886 cattle including 133 cows at a cattle camp in Virpur village in Viramgham Taluka of Ahmedabad district recently, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House twice.

Congress members, enraged over the death of cows for want of grass and fodder, asked a volley of supplementary questions to Revenue Minister Vajubhai Vala during the discussion on Call Attention Notice by Lalit Patel (Congress).

The agitated Congress members led by Amarsinh Chaudhary grilled Vala for not taking measures to provide fodder and other relief subsidies to the cattle camp and repeatedly pointed out the death of the large number of cattle.

Despite assurance by the Minister to provide assistance and supply of fodder, the members continued to raise slogans. Congress members continued with the slogan shouting even though Speaker Dhirubhai Shah switched over to the other business on the agenda. The Speaker ordered the sergeant to take Congress member Kumansinh Chauhan out of the House as despite his repeated requests, the member went on arguing with the Revenue Minister.

The Opposition members then rushed to well of the House and shouted slogans which led the Speaker to adjourn the House for ten minutes. When the house reassembled, Congress members continued to thump desks and shouted slogans over the issue of removal of Chauhan, forcing the Speaker to adjourn the House for the second time.
