UPA will never submit to terrorism: Rahul

Rahul Gandhi has said that the UPA government is not only fighting terrorism but also winning on the front.

.

Reacting to BJP’s allegation that the Centre was soft on terror, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on Monday said the UPA government is not only fighting terrorism but also winning on the front.

“UPA is fighting terrorism and winning. During NDA regime, a minister had accompanied terrorists to Kandahar and the then Government bowed down before terrorists when they hijacked a plane. Congress has not that kind of submission nor it will ever do,” Rahul said addressing an election rally in Raipur on Monday.

He said the BJP is making terrorism an issue as they did not want to answer what they have done on developmental and growth fronts in Chhattisgarh for the last five years.

“When we ask them what they have done on developmental and growth fronts, they start raising the issue of terrorism,” the Congres leader said.

He termed the UPA government as “Aam Admi Ki Sarkar” and counted the Centre’s pro-poor measures such as National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), mid-day meal scheme, farmer’s loan waiver programme and tribal land rights Act.

“The BJP Government in Chhattisgarh should ask itself what it has done for poor people,” he said.

Greeting the crowd by saying “Chhattisgariya Sable Badhiya”, Rahul asked the people to consider before voting whether the BJP fulfilled its election promises during the five-year rule.
