The BJP has said the UPA Government’s projection of the 9 per cent GDP growth is a “growth story without justice and equity”. “This is at the cost of the common man,” said party spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad here on Saturday.
On the Government’s claims that there is a bumper crop and good harvest, the BJP spokesperson wondered “how these were not reflected in the rate of inflation”. “This only shows how the food economy, under the present Government, is grossly mismanaged,” Prasad added.
On Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi’s reported statement that “let the BJP tell the Govt how to contain price rise”, Prasad said “the Government must quit if they cannot manage the situation.
The party also asked the Government to change duty structure of petroleum products.
