PUNE, SEPT 14: The Management Council of the University of Pune (UoP) today unanimously decided to issue a show-cause notice to former Pro Vice-chancellor B D Choure, holding him responsible for sending anonymous letters degrading the UoP to all higher UoP officials early this year.

A criminal complaint is likely to be filed against Choure by next week, say highly placed University officials. This issue had been discussed at the Senate meeting in March this year. The management council today accepted the report of the committee of M Damame and A D Kale who had been appointed to enquire into this matter, which held the former pro-vice chancellor (PVC) guilty of breach of trust, tampering with University documents, contempt of the Vice-chancellor and forgery.

In another major decision, it was decided to increase by 10 the number of seats for Master of Computer Science (MCS) course per college and the NRI quota from 5 to 10 per cent, for which no entrance examination will be held.
